A short list, honestly labeled. No advertising cookies, no retargeting pixels, and nothing that follows you to another site.
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store, so that something can be remembered between page loads. Similar technologies, including local storage and pixel requests, do roughly the same job. This policy covers all of them and sits alongside the Privacy Policy.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Lifespan |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga |
Google Analytics | Distinguishes one browser from another so visits can be counted without identifying anyone | 2 years |
_ga_E8TEJ92VMJ |
Google Analytics | Maintains the analytics session state for this specific property | 2 years |
ck_subscriber and related |
Kit (newsletter form) | Set only if you interact with the email signup form, so it is not shown to you again | Up to 1 year |
| Cloudflare security tokens | Cloudflare | Set only when our host needs to verify a request is not automated abuse | Session to 30 days |
Only Cloudflare's security tokens fall here, and only when triggered. They keep the site online and cannot be switched off without breaking access.
Google Analytics 4 tells us which ideas people open, which guides get read to the end, and where the navigation confuses people. It is configured for aggregate measurement. It is not used to build a profile of you, and Google Signals and advertising features are not enabled on this property.
The newsletter form remembers whether you have already interacted with it. That is the whole function.
None. Steward-Ship runs no ads, sells no ad space, and sets no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If you ever find one on this site, tell us and it will be removed.
The site loads fonts from Google Fonts and an animation library from cdnjs, and embeds a form from Web3Forms on the contact page. These do not set tracking cookies, but making the request necessarily reveals your IP address to those providers, which is worth knowing.
Steward-Ship is a US-based publication with no advertising and no cross-site tracking, so a consent wall would add friction without protecting anyone. Instead, the full inventory is disclosed on this page and every cookie above can be refused in your browser without losing any functionality. If the site's use of cookies ever expands beyond what is listed here, a consent mechanism will be added before that happens, not after.
Every page, idea, guide, and prototype on this site works normally with all cookies blocked.
This inventory is updated whenever a tool is added to or removed from the site. The effective date above reflects the current version.
